TISSUE EXTRACTION FOR UNCERTAIN DIAGNOSIS
2019
Taking the quipu as a metaphor, this project reinterprets the Inca knot as the extraction of small tissue samples for later analysis.
These textile biopsies comprise a mixture of natural and synthetic fibers that dialogue with each other and generate various readings according to their composition and sutures. Placed on the wall as a constellation, these are proposed as a way of reexamining the genetic family inheritance, they are also raised as excuses to rethink the body and its analysis in the event of a possible disease alarm.
On the other hand, he visualizes scars as body marks that hold intimate and emotional information. A set of stories of fear, uncertainty and acceptance.
